Well, let's start with what I remember from 2010. There was this movie called Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio that was very intriguing. It involved going into layers of dreams until you just couldn't tell what was real and what wasn't anymore. They also remade The Karate Kid with Will Smith's son and Jackie Chan, and they set it in China. There was another Tron movie, that was a big deal. Oh, and Toy Story 3 came out and made everyone cry! There was also this Expendables movie that put a bunch of classic action movie leads together into a high-risk action team that did...stuff. I didn't actually see much of that one. Jake pestered me for at least a month to, though, but I told him it wasn't my cup of tea.
As for 2011, there was a really neat Captain America movie! Very nice, very fun, and really lovely in terms of a pseudo-period piece for the 1940's. I think there were plans on incorporating it into the beginning of a Marvel Comics movie landslide of sorts? Especially since they had a Thor movie come out before it. There was also another Pirates of the Caribbean movie, but it was basically just Captain Jack Sparrow fodder, so if you like Johnny Depp, there's plenty of him in there. That's what comes to mind immediately.
